Man Finds $20 in the Speedway Parking Lot
Finding money is always a blessing, right? One day, it’s $1 under the table in your high school cafeteria. The next, $20 in your Speedway parking lot. The good news here isn’t what he found. It’s what happened to this lucky bloke after he found it.
A North Carolina man discovered $20 on his way into the Speedway to grab God knows what. I like to think it was a few Slim Jims and a pack of smokes. Parliaments, maybe. On his way in, a $20 bill caught his eye and like any self-respecting American in this economy, he went over and grabbed it. Now I fully support this dude spending it the way he did. I never carry cash, but when I do, I gamble. Doesn’t matter if it’s healthy or not, alright. I’m the one writing this.
Up Big
He looks for his go-to scratch off where he has presumably lost many, many times over again. Being that he probably bought them all with $20 he actually had as disposable income, he opts in for a different one: Extreme Cash scratch-off. Low and behold, Jerry Hicks wins $1 million dollars off of it. If that was his first time ever doing a backflip, I don’t blame the guy. The tax implications aren’t important. It was never going to be an exact $1 million dollars. The important part is – he is a winner.
Being the upstanding citizen he is, he made it clear he is going to give back to another small business with his comment afterwards. “We are going to head straight to Golden Corral and eat everything they’ve got.” What a ROCKSTAR. Why not, man. Hats off to you. Golden Carrol just got its first good buffet out of this guy, and I hope he relishes in every second of it.
